Job summary

NSW Health seeks a Senior Resident Medical Officer in Emergency Medicine for the Central Coast Local Health District. The role covers Gosford and Wyong Hospitals with exposure to trauma, paediatrics, medicine and surgery, and access to a broad education program and research opportunities.

Rotations support ACEM progression, with a 6-month Gosford and 6-month Wyong split. The NSW Central Coast area offers a coastal lifestyle and a developing population of around 450,000 by 2030.

Qualifications

• Two years full-time equivalent postgraduate years or more in an acute hospital setting with a minimum of four months Emergency Medicine experience (Aus/NZ/CAP).
• Two years full-time equivalent postgraduate years or more in an acute hospital setting with a minimum of eight months Emergency Medicine experience (Standard Pathway).
• Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, knowledge and judgement.
• Demonstrated success working in a multidisciplinary team, providing leadership and effective communication to ensure appropriate management of patients.

Responsibilities

• Rostered 8 x 10 hour shifts a fortnight with minimal un-rostered overtime (paid).
• Rotations support the prerequisite to join ACEM with 6 months in Gosford ED and 6 months in Wyong ED.
