Job summary

Veolia in Emerald, QLD, is hiring a Yard Hand to join the Operations team at Emerald Depot 4720. You will perform onsite labour, assist with bins and equipment, and support other work areas. Shifts start at 5.30am with overtime potential.

Role requires a forklift licence (desirable), an excavator ticket and HR licence, plus a safety minded approach. Veolia emphasises AlwaysSafe culture and pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain depot housekeeping, safety, and tidiness.
• Support other areas within the unit.
• Clean, assemble, prepare and deliver bins and equipment including mobile fleet.
• Promote and maintain safe operational standards.
• Complete daily tasks as directed by Supervisor/Leading Hand.

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and reliable Yard Hand to become part of our Operations team located in our Emerald Depot 4720.

Reporting to the Supervisor you will be responsible for all onsite general labouring tasks including pick ups around town and processing of cardboard . Shifts start at 5.30am.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Continually monitor the housekeeping of the depot keeping it clean, safe and tidy
• Assist and work coherently with the other work areas within the business unit
• Clean, assemble, prepare and deliver bins and equipment this includes mobile fleet
• Actively promote and maintain safe operational standards in the workplace.
• Complete scheduled daily work tasks as directed by the Supervisor/Leading Hand in an efficient and timely manner

What you’ll need to be successful

• High risk Forklift licence desirable but training can be given
• Excavator ticket (Required)
• HR Licence (Required)
• Safety minded
