Rosewood Partners is collaborating with a well-funded medtech startup to hire an Embedded Software Engineer. You will design, develop, and maintain core software powering point-of-care diagnostics, running on an Embedded Linux platform on FPGA cores, with C++ applications and bare-metal components.

The role emphasizes on-the-tools work, real-time performance, memory efficiency, and close collaboration with hardware, software, and product teams to ensure robust system integration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in embedded software development for real-time systems.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Experience with embedded operating systems (Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS).
• Relevant degree in CS or EE.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded software across a range of hardware platforms.
• Develop efficient, reliable code for real-time systems, optimising memory usage and processing efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product teams to ensure seamless system-level integration with peripheral components.
• Troubleshoot and debug software issues, working at the interface of software and electronics to identify root causes.
• Support verification and validation activities to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Follow established development practices across the full software lifecycle, including version control and documentation standards.
