Job summary

Amazon LEO seeks a System Development Engineer to architect and deliver embedded software for next‑gen hardware in customer terminals. You’ll work at the crossroads of hardware integration and production-scale software, shipping reliable code that impacts millions of homes worldwide.

You’ll design software for onboard power management, develop control algorithms, and enable data‑driven insights through automated tests and CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Experience programming with Python, C++, C# or similar languages.
• Experience working with microcontrollers or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement, and validate software for onboard power management.
• Develop closed-loop control algorithms using sensors, MCUs and custom silicon.
• Enable data-driven performance insights via automated tests and pipelines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure Leo devices meet requirements.
• Define and execute software release processes, CI/CD, and quality verification.
• Work hands-on with hardware test equipment.
• Deliver clear documentation and user-focused software for engineering and manufacturing teams.
