Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA is seeking a software engineer to drive embedded software for satellite systems, including mode management, telemetry, power control, and autonomous capabilities.

You will develop in C, C++, or Rust, work with real-time OS, interface with hardware via I2C, SPI, RS-422/485, and collaborate with hardware teams to verify and test the software that keeps satellites reliable throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Own unique embedded software functions through design, implementation (in C, C++, Rust or other), test, and integration in an embedded Linux or RTOS environment.
• Write software to interact with devices/electronics using I2C, I3C, SPI, RS-422, RS-485, Ethernet, etc. communications.
• Work closely with hardware teams for setup and verification, as well as integration and testing.
• Follow best practices in high reliability embedded software development to ensure high levels of satellite reliability and availability.
• Work on the Satellite Communication Systems Payload.
