Job summary

Profound People in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support development and testing of advanced control technologies for defence applications. The role focuses on low-level C programming on bare-metal platforms, typically Arduino-based, with hands-on hardware collaboration, rapid iteration, testing, and validation in a practical engineering environment.

Experience with CAN bus and electronics/mechatronics background is valued to liaison with hardware teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C for bare-metal programming; experience with Arduino platforms.
• Experience with CAN bus is valued.

Responsibilities

• Develop low level embedded software for bare-metal platforms.
• Implement, test, and validate code in hands-on engineering environment.
• Work with CAN bus and other communication protocols.
• Collaborate with electronics and mechatronics engineers to integrate software with hardware.
• Support rapid prototyping, iteration, and debugging of embedded systems.
