Job summary

ProFound People is partnering with an Australian R&D and manufacturing company to hire an Electronics Engineer in Adelaide to support design and validation of onboard electrical systems for deployable platforms. You'll work across the full electronic design lifecycle, creating PCBs, validating embedded subsystems, and ensuring reliability and EMI/EMC compliance in defence applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in PCB design and schematic capture.
• Understanding of DC-DC power conversion and embedded electronics.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC principles in board-level design.
• Knowledge of how hardware fits into complete embedded systems.
• Comfortable with lab work: oscilloscopes, soldering, board rework, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of PCBs for defence platforms.
• Select components and develop circuits involving power regulation, communications, and sensor integration.
• Ensure compliance with EMC/EMI standards.
• Collaborate with embedded software engineers to integrate and test systems.
• Support prototyping, bring-up, and debugging of new boards.
• Contribute to full system design by understanding PCB interactions.

Job description

An Australian R&D and manufacturing company developing advanced defence and industrial systems is expanding its team and is now hiring an Electronics Engineer to support the design and validation of onboard electrical systems for deployable platforms.

You’ll work on the full electronic design lifecycle, supporting the development of mission critical systems by designing, testing, and integrating key PCB assemblies and embedded electronic subsystems. These platforms are developed for real world defence applications where reliability, size, and performance are critical.

This role would suit an engineer who enjoys hands on circuit design and systems level thinking, especially in fast paced, hardware focused environments.

full time, Adelaide based role. For interstate candidates, full relocation to Adelaide is required. Relocation allowance will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for defence platforms
• Select components and develop circuits involving power regulation, communications, and sensor integration
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including EMC/EMI
• Collaborate with embedded software engineers to integrate and test complete systems
• Support prototyping, bring-up, and debugging of new boards and systems
• Contribute to full system design by understanding how different PCBs interact within the platform

Requirements:

• Experience in PCB design and schematic capture
• Understanding of DC-DC power conversion and embedded electronics
