Job summary

Thales Australia, based in New South Wales, is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the Underwater Systems team focused on Scylla sonar and related equipment. The role is located in Rydalmere and offers a hybrid work setup within a diverse engineering group.

You will contribute to design, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and maintaining high engineering standards.

Qualifications

• IEAust recognised Electrical / Electronics Engineering degree eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
• Hands-on experience manufacturing or supporting high-quality equipment or systems (min 3 years).
• Knowledge of engineering design, manufacture, verification and configuration processes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain equipment and systems, including testing and parts replacement.
• Design new components for equipment or test fixtures.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis on site or for returned components.
• Create, review and maintain design/manufacturing documentation (specs, drawings, BOMs).
• Ensure quality and configuration control of design data.
• Participate in design reviews and readiness reviews.
• Provide technical advice and seek Design Authority approval as needed.
• Develop plans and status reports for work packages.
• Support Lean continuous improvement in Engineering.
• Maintain knowledge across Scylla subsystems and related equipment.
