Job summary

Thales is seeking an Installation, Integration & Test Technician to join our Defence team in Australia. Based in Rydalmere, you will apply your electronics and communications knowledge to support installation, integration and testing of upgraded systems on defence projects.

The role requires developing installation documentation, installing project equipment and ensuring safety and quality across subsystems.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate/Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Systems (or currently completing).
• Practical experience on communication and/or electronic systems.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of configuration management processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop installation documentation to support installation activities.
• Perform installation of project specific equipment.
• Testing of new installations to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.
• Set to work of electronic and communication equipment/software to support sub-system and system level testing.
• Ensure quality, workmanship and mentoring within the Project Team.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Installation, Integration and Test Technician to join our team based in Rydalmere NSW. We are looking for technicians/technical officers with an electronics communications background.

This role will require you to work in a small team, utilising your technical skills and knowledge to support the design, planning, installation and testing of communication systems upgrades on our Australian defence projects.

This opportunity will require occasional travel interstate.

KEY OUTCOMES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Installation, Integration & Test Technician, you are responsible for:

Development of installation documentation to support installation activities.

Perform installation of project specific equipment.

Testing of new installations to ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements.

Set to work of electronic and communication equipment/software to support sub-system and system level testing.

Ensure quality, workmanship, mentoring and task completion in support of the Project Team.

KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience:

AQF Certificate/Diploma in Electrical / Electronic Systems (or currently completing)

Practical experience on communication and/or electronic systems.

Computer literacy skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office applications.

Understanding of configuration management processes and procedures.
