Job description

At Tassal Group, we are dedicated to “Sustainably Feeding Tomorrow.”

With over 35 years of aquaculture experience, we focus on providing healthy, sustainable, and nutritious food, including salmon, prawn, and barramundi. We are committed to producing accessible food, supporting communities, and delivering strong economic results, all while prioritising sustainability to ensure a prosperous, healthy planet for future generations.

The role:

Join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Electrician at Tassal’s Proserpine site, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting our operations. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll work as part of our skilled electrical team to ensure the smooth running of our equipment and systems. This is a dynamic and hands-on role, perfect for a proactive and technically minded individual who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

You’ll work a 2/2/3 roster, offering a great work-life balance with a long weekend every other weekend. Shifts are 12 hours, and the role includes an on-call component to support our operations as needed. You’ll contribute to maintaining optimal efficiency, safety, and reliability across our site, all while adhering to regulations, industry standards, and company policies.

If you’re passionate about problem-solving and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose issues, and test, repair, and maintain electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Work with PLC and SCADA-based systems, network cabling (fibre and copper), variable speed drives, large generators, LV power distribution, and instrumentation.
  • Interpret electrical schematics to ensure effective troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Proactively identify and address potential issues to minimise downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Uphold safety standards and contribute to our Zero Harm culture.

Role requirements:

  • Previous industrial electrical experience.
  • Exposure to PLC and SCADA systems (desirable).
  • High voltage experience (desirable).
  • A system-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.
  • A respectful, empathetic, and outcomes-focused approach, paired with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to participate in shift cover, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • A safe, driven, reliable, and can-do attitude, with a commitment to teamwork.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • Full-time working rights in Australia.

Role offerings:

  • Enjoy a competitive salary package with the potential to earn more through on-call duties, rewarding your dedication and expertise.
  • Benefit from a 2/2/3 roster, giving you a long weekend every second week and more time to recharge or spend with loved ones.
  • Take advantage of financial benefits, including salary packaging, novated leasing, and exclusive rewards to enhance your lifestyle.
  • Access comprehensive health and wellbeing programs designed to support you and your family, ensuring you thrive both at work and at home.
  • Join a leading Australian aquaculture company that values teamwork, innovation, and sustainability. Be part of a workplace where your contributions are recognised, and your growth is encouraged.

Company culture:

Our people each contribute in different ways, embracing our business values and harnessing our can do – safely culture with purpose and intent. Our shared values are an essential part of our business culture, they define us. They underpin and guide our commitment, attitude, how we work and the quality of our products. We are passionate, we achieve together, we own it and we can do it safely.
