Job summary

Tassal Group in Proserpine is seeking a Feed Technician to support our aquaculture operations. You’ll work with farming colleagues in a picturesque outdoor setting, tending saltwater ponds and ensuring prawns receive their feed.

This is a full-time fixed-term role running through the prawn season, with on-the-job training and a lifestyle roster (2/2/3) that supports work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Manual driver's licence and own transport to site.
• High risk licence and forklift licence desirable.
• Physically fit for hot, humid, wet environments.
• Able to commit to the full prawn season.
• Transferable skills from similar roles considered.

Responsibilities

• Fill feed trucks and distribute feed to AQ1 feeders.
• Ensure optimal feed management and adherence to procedures.
• Follow all safety regulations while performing tasks.

Job description

Join Tassal in Proserpine as a Feed Technician, you'll work collaboratively with other farming teams in a picturesque outdoor setting, tending to our saltwater ponds and ensuring our prawns have access to their vital feed.

Prior aquaculture experience is not required for this role. We value your transferable skills and offer on-the-job training and development opportunities. Contribute to the success of Tassal and make a positive impact on our sustainable seafood production.

Based in a stunning location halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you'll enjoy a lifestyle roster (2/2/3) that gives you plenty of time to explore the beautiful Whitsundays.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position running until the end of April 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Fill feed trucks, distribute feed to AQ1 feeders, and ensure optimal feed management.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures while completing tasks.

Role Requirements

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, safety focused, and has a passion for hands on work. To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a current manual driver's licence and their own transport to get to site;
• Have high risk licence (desirable);
• Forklift licence (desirable);
• Have great attention to detail;
• Be comfortable with technology and familiar with tablets and use of apps;
• Be reliable and committed to working the full prawn season with a 'can do' attitude;
• Be physically fit with the ability to work in a hot, humid, and wet environment;
