Job summary

Orana Electrical is seeking experienced Electricians to join our growing team on a FIFO roster: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, across North West Queensland. You will perform a range of mining and industrial electrical activities, including construction, maintenance, testing and commissioning, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and teamwork in a remote-site environment.

Qualified candidates will hold a current QLD Electrical Work Licence and have a background in mining or industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician with a current QLD Electrical Work Licence.
• Background in mining, industrial, construction or maintenance electrical work.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical equipment and systems.
• Carry out electrical construction, upgrades and modifications.
• Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Carry out electrical testing and commissioning.
• Work safely and professionally in FIFO remote-site environments.

The Role

This is a FIFO electrical position working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster.

You will work across a range of mining and industrial electrical activities, including:

• Electrical project work

• Construction and installation

• Maintenance and shutdown support

• Electrical upgrades and modifications

• Fault finding and breakdown repairs

• Servicing mining, commercial and government work.

• Testing and commissioning

The role would suit an electrician who enjoys a variety of work, can operate independently and takes pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical equipment and systems

• Carry out electrical construction, upgrades and modifications

• Diagnose electrical faults and complete repairs efficiently

• Carry out electrical testing and commissioning

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation

• Complete electrical inspections and testing in accordance with relevant standards

• Maintain a high standard of safety, quality and compliance

• Work independently when required and contribute positively within the wider team

• Communicate professionally with clients, supervisors and other trades

• Assist with the safe and efficient delivery of projects and maintenance activities

What a Great Candidate Looks Like

• Qualified Electrician with a current QLD Electrical Work Licence

• Background in mining, industrial, construction or maintenance electrical work

• Able to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics

• Able to work independently and take ownership of tasks

• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Reliable, safety focused and professional

• Positive attitude and ability to work effectively within a small team

• Current manual Driver Licence

• Current CPR and LVR, or willingness to obtain

• Comfortable working a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off FIFO roster

Additional Skills – Advantageous

The following qualifications and experience would be highly regarded:

• Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control

• A strong background in Mining and Construction

• Instrumentation installation, calibration or fault-finding experience

• Hazardous Area qualifications

• S1, S2 and S3 competencies

• High Risk Work Licence including EWP and Forklift

• Working at Heights

• Confined Space Entry
