About The Role

Infrabuild Manufacturing seeks a safety‑focused Electrician to maintain and improve plant operations at the Rooty Hill Steel Mill. This permanent, full‑time role reports to the Electrical Team Leader and involves planned maintenance, breakdown support, and project work. You will work, 4 x 10‑hour shifts Monday‑Thursday (Tuesday‑Friday) with potential to move into a rotating shift schedule later. All tools are supplied and the company provides regular training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, operational checks, and routine inspections on plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and projects.
• Monitor plant performance with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve processes.

Required Qualifications

• Current NSW Electrical Trade qualification (Supervisor or Contractor licence).
• Proven experience in breakdown fault finding, repair, and maintenance, ideally within manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong communication, time‑management, and teamwork skills.
• Solid computer literacy and comfort with modern maintenance systems.
• Commitment to learning, improving, and contributing to a safety‑first culture.

Desired Experience

• PLC control systems and industrial automation.
• AC and DC variable speed drives.
• HMI and SCADA systems.
• SAP or similar maintenance management systems.
• Post‑trade electrical courses or further training.
