Job summary

InfraBuild is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for our Newcastle Wire Mill in Mayfield to deliver high-quality electrical maintenance across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability and minimising downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will execute preventative and breakdown maintenance in a heavy industrial environment.

Hours Monday-Friday 6.00am-3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight; shift rosters may apply. Earn 45-49 AUD per hour plus allowances.

Qualifications

• Electrical Supervision (ES) Licence - essential for safe oversight of site-based electrical work.
• Cert III in Electrotechnology as a foundation for hands-on electrical maintenance.
• Experience with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems.
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded).
• Experience in heavy industry or combustion equipment; SAP knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and based at our Newcastle Wire Millin Mayfield, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance services across site operations, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.

What you will be doing:

• Execute preventative and breakdown maintenance to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation and control faults efficiently.
• Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimise fixed plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and site requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Hours are Monday-Friday, 6.00am-3.00pm with a 9-day fortnight. Candidates must be willing and able to work shifts if required, including a 12-hour roster.

Earn $45-$49 per hour (depending on experience) plus allowances and shift loading (if applicable).

What you will bring:

• Proven experience working with Siemens PLCs, ABB drives and AC/DC motor systems
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across industrial electrical and control systems
• Exposure to instrumentation, automation, or control systems (Cert IV highly regarded)
• Experience in heavy industry or combustion equipment, with SAP knowledge advantageous
