Job description

Hunter Project Solutions – Muswellbrook NSW

Hunter Project Solutions (HPS) is a Hunter-based electrical and industrial services contractor. We deliver installation, maintenance and project works in power generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and heavy industry for clients including AGL Macquarie, Fluence Energy and AESC.

We're a tight, capable team of licensed electricians and supervisors with a strong pipeline ahead. That includes major and dual unit outages at Bayswater Power Station, a 3.3kV switchboard replacement, ongoing maintenance and lighting works, commissioning at Tomago BESS, support at Liddell BESS, and a BESS technical services framework covering the east coast.

The role is based at our site office, 15 minutes south of Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter.

The role

You’ll work closely with our Site Manager and Electrical Team Leaders to plan, schedule, execute and quality-check electrical work packages. At any one time we have several work fronts running for different clients on different sites. Your job is to keep each package planned, resourced, sequenced and delivered to standard. We’ve invested heavily in our own systems so our coordinators spend their time driving the work, not chasing paperwork.

Key responsibilities
  • Scoping, estimating and quoting electrical works packages
  • Planning and scheduling works with the Site Manager and Team Leaders
  • Coordinating labour, materials and resources across concurrent jobs, including raising purchase orders
  • Issuing work packages with ITPs and making sure work is done right the first time
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, including scope discussions, updates, variations and reporting
  • Working in our purpose-built software platform. We’ve done the heavy lifting on the back end so admin is streamlined and your focus stays on the work front, with job progress, accountability and reporting tied together in one system.
  • Spotting risks and roadblocks early and dealing with them before they become problems
About you

You’re an electrician who knows how work actually gets done on site and is ready to step into planning and coordination.

You don't need to know everything.

We’re here to help. What matters most to us is someone who recognises what they don’t know, puts their hand up, and works with the team to fill the gap. We’d rather hear “I’m not sure, let me check” than a confident guess.

You’ll have:
  • A trade qualification as an electrician (unrestricted licence highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge of site installation practices and standards (AS/NZS 3000 and related)
  • Solid experience with control systems and fault finding
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and scopes
  • Strong multitasking and prioritisation skills, and you stay calm when several things need attention at once
  • Close attention to detail, good foresight and a habit of following through on what you commit to
  • Confident, professional communication with clients and site teams
  • Competent PC skills and comfort working in software day to day. You don’t need to be an admin specialist, because our systems handle most of that for you.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to work from our Upper Hunter site office and travel to other sites as required
  • Experience in power stations, BESS or heavy industrial environments, or in a leading hand, supervisor or estimating role, will be highly regarded.
What’s on offer

A challenging, varied role with real responsibility and influence

$180k to $220k+ per year, depending on skills and experience

Company vehicle, or a vehicle allowance if you prefer

Travel allowances

Work-from-home options available on a rostered basis

A structured start: weekly one-on-ones, a full systems induction and a clear 90-day plan

A genuine pathway into the HPS senior team as we grow, for the right person

A close-knit team that backs each other, where your input shapes how we operate

Purpose-built systems that keep admin to a minimum, with job progress, scheduling and QA tracked in one place

This isn’t just another coordinator role.

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us: someone who’ll back the team, ask when they’re unsure, care about the outcome and help shape where HPS goes next. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
