BGIS Technical Trade Services – Canberra ACT is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across client sites, ensuring electrical systems operate safely and reliably. You’ll work on emergency lighting, switchboards, and high-voltage infrastructure, with a modern company vehicle and tools provided from day one.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology is essential.
• Qualified Supervisor's Licence is essential.
• White Card (General Construction Induction) is essential.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
• Experience in commercial maintenance, facilities management, or service-based electrical environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience mentoring apprentices is highly regarded.
• Full working rights in Australia (essential).
• National Police Check may be required in recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repairs
• Maintenance and testing of emergency lighting systems
• Fault finding and rectification of electrical systems and switchboards
• Completing work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders
• Assisting with the mentoring and development of apprentices
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and compliance requirements
• Participating in an on-call roster as required
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining strong customer relationships
