Job summary

BGIS Technical Trade Services is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and minor works across client sites in Cardiff and the surrounding region. You will work on electrical systems including emergency lighting, switchboards, and high-voltage infrastructure with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology is essential.
• Qualified Supervisor's Licence is essential.
• White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
• Current Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
• Experience in commercial maintenance or service-based electrical environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience mentoring apprentices is highly regarded.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Maintenance and testing of emergency lighting systems.
• Fault finding and rectification of electrical systems and switchboards.
• Completing work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Assisting with the mentoring and development of apprentices.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with standards and compliance requirements.
• Participating in an on-call roster as required.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining strong customer relationships.

The Role

We're seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and minor works across a diverse portfolio of client sites throughout Cardiff and the surrounding region.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring electrical systems and assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, while delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service. Working across a range of commercial and industrial environments, you’ll perform maintenance on electrical systems including emergency lighting, switchboards, and high-voltage infrastructure.
