Job summary

BGIS Technical Trade Services is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance across client sites in Cardiff and surrounding NSW. You will work on emergency lighting, switchboards and HV infrastructure, supported by a modern company vehicle and quality tools.

You'll join an experienced team, mentoring apprentices and ensuring safety, quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology required.
• Qualified Supervisor's Licence required.
• White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
• Current Australian Driver's Licence required.
• Experience in commercial maintenance or service-based electrical environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Maintenance and testing of emergency lighting systems.
• Fault finding and rectification of electrical systems and switchboards.
• Completing work orders and maintenance documentation accurately and on time.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Assisting with mentoring and development of apprentices.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with standards and compliance.
• Participating in an on-call roster as required.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining customer relationships.

The Role

We’re seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to deliver planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and minor works across a diverse portfolio of client sites throughout Cardiff and the surrounding region. You'll play a key role in ensuring electrical systems and assets operate safely, efficiently, and reliably, while delivering exceptional workmanship and customer service. Working across a range of commercial and industrial environments, you'll perform maintenance on electrical systems including emergency lighting, switchboards, and high-voltage infrastructure. What You’ll Be Doing

Your Education, Experience & Skills

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology (essential)
• Qualified Supervisor's Licence (essential)

• Experience in commercial maintenance, facilities management, or service-based electrical environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience mentoring apprentices is highly regarded
• Full working rights in Australia (essential)
