Job summary

Power Protect is offering a 2027 Apprenticeship Program for an Apprentice Electrical Technician in Penrith, NSW. This hands-on role provides structured on-the-job training towards an electrical trade qualification, with mentorship from qualified technicians and opportunities to learn across a range of electrical systems and equipment.

You will support planned and reactive maintenance, installations, testing and fault-finding while building a long-term career in the electrical industry.

Qualifications

• Higher School Certificate (HSC) or higher
• White Card (General Construction Induction Training) or willingness to obtain one before commencing employment.
• A genuine interest in electrical work and developing a career in the trade
• Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude
• Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions
• Willingness to work afterhours and weekends
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong safety awareness
• Basic computer skills and a practical approach to problemd solving
• Australian citizenship is essential
• As part of our recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Assist installation, servicing and maintenance of UPS, generators and control circuits.
• Assist experienced technicians with fault finding and repairs under supervision.
• Learn to recognise hazards and implement control for a safe working environment.
• Learn to use electrical test equipment and digital service tools.
• Assist with work records, timesheets and basic quotations or estimates.
• Support facility maintenance activities as required.
• Develop practical skills while following safe work practices.
• Build positive relationships with clients, team members, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Participate in apprentice training and complete learning and development requirements toward your trade qualification.
