Smart Industrial is seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead a field-based team across Sydney’s industrial sites, overseeing maintenance and breakdown responses. You will manage technicians, coordinate schedules, and provide hands-on PLC fault-finding and preventative maintenance in FMCG, manufacturing and industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience supervising electricians or field technicians.
• Proven Australian industrial manufacturing, maintenance or field services experience.
• Electrical trade qualifications and current electrical licence.
• Experience with industrial breakdowns, preventative maintenance and PLC fault-finding.
• Ability to coordinate workloads and build strong customer relationships.

• Must have current driver’s licence and ability to travel.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor to join a growing industrial maintenance contractor servicing customers across Sydney's metropolitan and industrial areas. Working across FMCG, food and beverage, steel, paper, pharmaceutical and manufacturing environments, you'll lead field technicians, support critical machine breakdowns and deliver reliable electrical maintenance solutions. This is a hands-on, field-based role combining technical troubleshooting, PLC fault-finding, preventative maintenance, team leadership and customer relationship management.

About the role

You'll oversee day-to-day field operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, mentoring and coordinating electricians and subcontractors across customer sites.

• Supporting machine breakdowns, electrical fault-finding and PLC troubleshooting.

About you – Essential requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• Australian industrial experience: Proven experience in industrial manufacturing, maintenance or field services within Australia.
• Leadership experience: Demonstrated experience supervising electricians or field service technicians. Previous supervisory experience is essential.
• Electrical qualifications: Relevant electrical trade qualifications and the appropriate current electrical licence.
• Strong technical skills: Experience with industrial breakdowns, preventative maintenance, PLC fault-finding and automated equipment.
• Leadership and communication: Ability to coordinate workloads, develop technicians and build strong customer relationships.
• Safety-first approach: Commitment to safe work practices, quality and compliance.
• Current driver's licence: Ability to travel between customer sites across Sydney.

Australian citizenship is mandatory due to eligibility requirements under customer contracts.
