Job summary

GPS Electrical Services is seeking Industrial Electricians to join the Melbourne Projects team. This hands-on role covers installation, commissioning and upgrades across diverse industrial sites.

You will work safely to high standards, interpret drawings, and mentor apprentices while delivering on a strong project pipeline in manufacturing, utilities and food processing sectors.

Qualifications

• A Grade Electrical Licence (VIC) is required.
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Strong safety awareness and OHS compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, commissioning, modifications and upgrades of electrical equipment, control panels and switchboards.
• Complete cable tray installation, cable termination and panel wiring.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently.
• Interpret drawings including architectural, technical and electrical schematics to execute installations.
• Work on motors, pumps, VSDs, sensors and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and site requirements.
• Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices and ensure work is to a high standard.

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking Industrial Electricians to join our Projects team in Melbourne working across a diverse range of industrial projects and sites.

This is a hands-on opportunity where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with the wider project team to deliver electrical works safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

With a strong pipeline of exciting projects ahead, you’ll gain exposure to a variety of industries including manufacturing, utilities, food processing and refrigeration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation, commissioning, modifcations and upgrades of electrical equipment, control panels, and switchboards.
• Complete cable tray installation, termination of cable and mains, completing fit offs and panel wiring.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults efficiently.
• Interpret drawing packages including, architectural drawings/layouts, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to execute electrical installations correctly.
• Work on motors, pumps, VSDs, sensors and instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and site requirements.
• Demonstrate willingness to work in various industrial environments, including abattoirs, hazardous areas, and general brownfield and greenfield sites.
• Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices, supporting their development and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
