Job summary

People8 is partnering with a leading infrastructure services provider to recruit an experienced Electrical Specialist - High Voltage & Hazardous Area in Brisbane. The role is permanent, based in Eagle Farm, with a vehicle provided for site travel and a focus on critical HV assets supporting water and wastewater infrastructure.

You will lead outages, switching programs, maintenance reviews, and provide technical input into asset upgrades, while coordinating subcontractors and maintaining

High Voltage & Hazardous Area Specialist | Brisbane

People8 has partnered with a leading infrastructure services provider to recruit an experienced Electrical Specialist - High Voltage & Hazardous Area in Brisbane.

Take ownership of critical HV assets supporting essential water and wastewater infrastructure in a permanent role offering technical leadership, asset management and specialist project involvement.

Based in Eagle Farm, with a vehicle provided for operational site travel.

About the Company

Our client is a leading infrastructure services organisation specialising in the operation, maintenance and lifecycle management of essential network assets across Australia.

An opportunity is available for an experienced High Voltage & Hazardous Area Specialist to oversee critical electrical assets across water and wastewater facilities in Brisbane.

Working closely with operational teams, project delivery teams and specialist contractors, you will lead HV outage planning, switching programs, maintenance and design reviews, and provide technical input into asset upgrades and renewals.

You will also coordinate specialist subcontractors, maintain HV and hazardous area compliance documentation, and support safe, reliable electrical asset performance.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree or Certificate III/IV electrical qualification, with an unrestricted Queensland Electrical Licence.
• Minimum 10 years' electrical experience, including demonstrated HV asset management, outage planning and specialist contractor coordination.
• Current HV Switching, Access Permit Issuer and Recipient competencies, and a valid driver's licence.
• Experience with Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas, or willingness to undertake training. RPEQ accreditation is desirable.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, with a focus on electrical safety and operational reliability.
