Job summary

GPS Electrical Services in Queensland is seeking a proactive electrical professional to join our growing team. You’ll engage with clients, understand challenges, and translate them into practical electrical solutions with our engineering and automation groups.

With a current electrical license and industrial experience, you’ll scope, estimate, and quote projects, building strong relationships while delivering safe, compliant outcomes across varied sites.

Qualifications

• Current Electrical License.
• Experience with MCCs, MSBs, switchboards and control cabinets.
• Experience scoping, estimating or quoting industrial electrical works.
• Industrial environments such as FMCG, manufacturing, utilities or infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities.
• Meet onsite with customers to understand problems and create scoped, priced deliverables.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and technical reviews.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and proposals.
• Manage client inquiries and after-sales matters to ensure satisfaction.
• Identify opportunities involving automation and machine safety teams and coordinate accordingly.
• Provide structured handover of work to project teams with clear scope and commitments.
• Attend client meetings and site visits across Brisbane.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join GPS at a key stage of our growth in Queensland. As a newly created role, you’ll have the opportunity to make your mark, build strong customer relationships and play an important part in growing our Brisbane presence.

You’ll work directly with customers to understand their challenges, ideas and desired outcomes, then use your technical expertise to turn them into practical, technically sound and commercially viable electrical solutions.

With a strong combination of industrial electrical experience, customer engagement, technical scoping and estimating, you’ll help identify new opportunities, develop tailored solutions and connect customers with the right expertise across our electrical, automation, engineering and machine safety teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, proactively identifying opportunities where we can solve operational, reliability, capacity, compliance or project challenges.
• Meet customers on site to understand their problems or desired outcome, and create scopes that can be priced and delivered.
• Undertake site inspections, audits and technical reviews.
• Prepare accurate and competitive quotes and project proposals of the works developed.
• Manage client enquiries and coordinate after-sales matters to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Recognise opportunities involving our automation and machine safey teams, and assign the relevenat teams.
• Provide a structured handover of work to Project teams, ensuring scope, customer commitments and technical requirements are clearly understood.
• Attend client meetings, site visits and industry events across Brisbane.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Electrical License.
• Demonstrated electrical installation experience, including knowledge of MCCs, MSBs, Switchboards, control cabinets, industrial cable installation, and equipment connections.
• Prior experience scoping, estimating, or quoting industrial electrical works.
• Practical experience working in industrial environemnts such as FMCG, manufacturing, utilities, infrastrucutre, or similiar.
• Strong working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 and relevant AU Electrical standards and practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
• Strong customer facing and relationship building capability, with confidence engaging engineering teams and operational stakeholders.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
