Job summary

WSP Brisbane Building Services is seeking a Senior Associate – Electrical to lead the design and technical delivery of complex building services projects, strengthening client relationships and supporting growth of the Brisbane team.

You’ll work across infrastructure, health, education and data centres, coordinating with architects and other disciplines, and mentoring engineers to drive quality, programme and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 7–10+ years’ experience on building services projects in a consultancy.
• Strong client relationship management and project delivery skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor other engineers.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and NCC.

Electrical Senior Associate, Building Services

Our Property & Buildings Building Services team in Brisbane is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Associate – Electrical to join our established team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take a senior role in the technical and project delivery of major building services projects, while strengthening client relationships and supporting the continued growth of our electrical capability.

You’ll work across a strong pipeline of projects spanning infrastructure, health, education and data centres, with access to multidisciplinary expertise across WSP’s national and global network.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Associate, you will:

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of complex building services projects.

• Deliver solutions across electrical power systems, lighting, communications and electronic security.

• Manage multiple projects concurrently across different sectors, scales and stages of delivery.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities and key stakeholders.

• Coordinate effectively with architects, other engineering disciplines and project teams.

• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to engineers and junior team members.

• Manage project outcomes with consideration for quality, programme and commercial requirements.

• Contribute to proposals, tenders and business development activities.

• Support the ongoing growth and development of WSP’s Brisbane Building Services team.

• Ensure engineering solutions comply with relevant Australian Standards, Codes and industry requirements.

Key Requirements

You’ll ideally bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 7–10+ years’ industry experience working on Australian building services projects, ideally within a consulting engineering environment.

• Strong experience successfully delivering multiple concurrent projects across a range of scales and sectors.

• Strong client relationship management and project management skills.

• Demonstrated technical capability across electrical building services design.

• Sound working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000 and the NCC.

• Ability to lead, mentor and support the development of other engineers.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• A collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
