Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Brisbane seeks an Associate Director – Electrical to lead electrical design and technical delivery across major Building Services projects.

You will mentor engineers, manage client relationships and drive project outcomes from concept through delivery. You should have a degree in Electrical Engineering, extensive experience in Australian Building Services, and a proven track record with large-scale, complex projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience delivering Australian Building Services projects.
• Proven track record leading large-scale, complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC).

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and technical delivery of major and complex Building Services projects.
• Provide technical leadership across electrical power, lighting, communications, electronic security and associated building systems.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project delivery across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities and key industry stakeholders.
• Take ownership of project outcomes across programme, budget, technical quality and commercial performance.
• Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers and other members of the Building Services team.
• Support proposals, tenders and strategic business development opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business.
• Collaborate with technical specialists across WSP’s national and global network.

The Opportunity

Our Property & Buildings Building Services team in Brisbane is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Associate Director – Electrical to take a key leadership role within the team.

This is an opportunity to lead the technical and project delivery of complex, high-profile projects, develop trusted client relationships, mentor our people and contribute to the continued growth of our Electrical Building Services capability in Queensland.

You’ll work across a diverse portfolio of projects including:

• Transport infrastructure and major precinct developments
• Commercial and mixed-use developments
• Defence and secure facilities
• Data centres and mission-critical environments
• Healthcare and social infrastructure

You’ll contribute across the full project lifecycle, from concept and advisory through to detailed design and delivery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve innovative, practical and sustainable outcomes.

About You

You’re an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Building Services consulting and a proven ability to lead technically complex projects, develop client relationships and support the growth of high-performing teams.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience delivering Australian Building Services projects, ideally within a consulting engineering environment.
• A proven track record delivering large-scale and technically complex projects.
• Strong technical capability across electrical Building Services design.
• Experience across sectors such as infrastructure, defence, healthcare, commercial developments or data centres.
• Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and Codes, including AS/NZS 3000 and the NCC.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capability.
• Demonstrated project management and commercial awareness.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
