Job summary

BHP is seeking qualified Electricians to join the Reticulation Team at Olympic Dam on a 7/7 FIFO roster from Adelaide, DIDO from regional SA, or residential Roxby Downs. You will provide electrical trade skills to support UG Electrical and back-bone systems and help maintain reliability for a large mining operation.

Applicants should hold a South Australian A Class Electrical License and a valid driver’s license; HRWL, Heights, and other tickets are advantageous.

Qualifications

• South Australian A Class Electrical License is required.
• Current, valid driver’s license is required.
• HRWL - Dogging is desirable.
• Working at Heights and Integrated Tool Carrier tickets are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical trade skills to perform core activities within the electrical mine area to ensure reliability and sustainability of the operation.
• Carry out planned and unplanned installation and modifications to UG Electrical and Communication Back Bone.
• Assist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availability.
• Comply with standards and procedures to work safely and effectively every day.
• Develop working relationships with maintenance and other personnel to ensure maintenance activities are rectified immediately and escalated where required.
• Provide continual feedback to Supervisors on job progress.
• Update events and work requests with an accurate scope of work for effective planning.
• Provide feedback to the Supervisor on improvement opportunities.
• Build cross-functional relationships to support mining and maintenance operations.
• Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of action items affecting equipment reliability.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas.
