Job summary

Embedded Expertise in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to lead the safe, compliant and reliable performance of our electrical assets and hazardous area installations.

You will drive maintenance strategies, support HV/LV systems, PLCs, DCS and protection schemes, perform root cause analyses, pursue energy optimisation, and collaborate with maintenance, operations and capital projects to deliver improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or process industries is preferred.
• Strong trouble-shooting, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills are required.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Reliability Engineer to join a leading manufacturing operation in Melbourne. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable performance of the site's electrical assets and hazardous area installations.

This is a hands-on technical leadership position where you will drive electrical reliability, asset performance, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex industrial manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical reliability, maintenance, and compliance across the site.
• Govern the Hazardous Area Management System (HAMS) and electrical safety programs.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve asset performance.
• Provide technical support for HV/LV systems, PLCs, DCS, and protection systems.
• Drive root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and energy optimisation initiatives.
• Maintain electrical standards, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial, FMCG, chemical, pharmaceutical, or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV electrical systems, PLC/DCS controls, and protection systems.
• Experience with hazardous area installations and electrical compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with CMMS and maintenance management practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Hazardous Area Classification, Inspection, or Design experience.
• Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM) or Asset Management experience.
• Exposure to energy management and optimisation projects.
• Experience supporting capital works and plant upgrades.
