Job summary

Aussie Switchboards is seeking a Project Supervisor to oversee electrical switchboard projects from engineering approval to production completion. You will ensure timely delivery, budget adherence, and maintain quality standards at Molendinar on the Gold Coast.

The role requires leading project engineers, coordinating with workshops, and managing drawings, BOMs, POs, and supplier materials. Strong communication and proactive leadership are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Project Engineers and ensure deliverables are tracked.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Review IFC/IFR drawings before production release.
• Hand over IFC drawings to production teams.
• Manage BOMs, POs and material availability.
• Raise and monitor POs for project materials.
• Coordinate with workshop to align priorities with capacity.
• Ensure free-issued materials are received and verified.
• Distribute updated drawings to relevant teams.
• Liaise with customers on progress, queries, and delivery expectations.
• Close NCRs promptly.
• Read SLDs and RFQs for project scope.
• Prepare AS61439 documentation including calculations.
• Stay updated with Australian Standards for switchboards.
• Submit weekly status reports to DEDM.
• Review project variations timely.
• Attend client and team meetings as required.
• Ensure weekly drawing approvals and outputs are achieved.
• Participate in performance reviews twice per year.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Project Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of electrical switchboard projects from engineering approval through to production completion, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee Project Engineers and ensure project deliverables are clearly communicated and tracked.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Review and approve IFR (Issued For Review) and IFC (Issued For Construction) drawings prior to production release.
• Ensure IFC drawings are formally handed over to the production team at the appropriate stage.
• Check Bills of Materials (BOMs), Purchase Orders (POs), and confirm all required materials are available or on order.
• Raise and manage Purchase Orders for project-specific materials and services.
• Monitor and follow up on backorders to prevent delays to production schedules.
• Coordinate closely with the workshop team to align project priorities with production capacity.
• Ensure all free-issued materials from customers are received, checked, and communicated to production.
• Issue updated and revised drawings to relevant teams in a timely manner.
• Liaise directly with the customers on project progress, technical queries, and delivery expectations.
• Review and close out Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in a timely manner.
• Read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), specifications, and Requests for Quotation (RFQs).
• Prepare AS61439 documentation including temperature rise calculations and discrimination studies.
• Stay current with Australian Standards applicable to switchboard design and manufacture in QLD and NSW.
• Comply with all safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Submit weekly project status reports to the Director-Engineering Design Manager (DEDM).
• Review, check, and approve project variations in a timely manner.
• Attend client meetings, team meetings, and project kick-off meetings as required.
• Ensure weekly drawing approvals and drawing outputs are achieved as set by the DEDM.
• Participate in performance reviews twice per year.
