Project Manager - Switchboard Manufacturing

Our client is a well-established National group of companies and provider to the electrical industry, with a strong presence in the Industrial and Construction sectors. Due to continued company growth, the Switchboard Manufacturing Division have new opportunities to join their business.

Operating across multiple specialist businesses and manufacturing facilities nationally, the group provides electrical engineering and manufacturing solutions supporting major sectors including data centres, infrastructure, utilities, heavy industry, food & beverage and construction.

Their manufacturing division specialises in Australian-designed and manufactured LV and HV switchboards and power distribution products, with extensive in-house capability across electrical engineering, sheet metal fabrication, assembly and testing.

Project Manager – Switchboard Manufacturing

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, an opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager to join their established Melbourne team. This is a manufacturing-focused Project Management role, responsible for managing multiple switchboard projects through the complete factory lifecycle – from engineering and design through procurement, production, testing and final delivery.

Working closely with engineering, procurement and production teams, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple LV and HV switchboard manufacturing projects
• Coordinating projects from engineering and design through to manufacture, testing and delivery
• Overseeing and reviewing detailed engineering and technical requirements
• Managing procurement of equipment, components and materials
• Monitoring products as they progress through the factory and coordinating closely with production teams
• Managing project schedules, budgets, costs and variations
• Contract administration and commercial management
• Forecasting and reporting on project progress and financial performance
• Ensuring manufacturing milestones and client delivery requirements are achieved
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders

About You

We are looking for an experienced electrical industry professional with a strong understanding of switchboard manufacturing and electrical power distribution.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Electrical Trade and/or Electrical Engineering qualifications
• Previous experience within switchboard manufacturing, electrical manufacturing or a similar engineered product environment
• Project Management experience within a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of LV and/or HV switchboards, power distribution, control systems or associated electrical products
• Strong commercial, scheduling and financial management skills
• Ability to coordinate engineering, procurement and production requirements
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• Sound understanding of relevant Australian electrical and safety standards
