Job summary

JD Ross Energy is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead the electrical delivery package for a major hyperscale data centre expansion in Sydney. You will oversee installation, energisation, and handover, ensuring safety, quality, programme, and commercial targets are met.

Key responsibilities include managing HV/LV installations, coordinating commissioning with client teams, and controlling budgets while maintaining compliance with Australian Standards and HSE requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale electrical packages ($10M+).
• Background in data centres or similar critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HV/LV distribution, substations/transformers, UPS, generators.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical works across the project lifecycle from install to energisation.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Drive milestones and ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee HV/LV installations, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS.
• Coordinate commissioning with client teams.

Sector: Data Centres | Mission Critical Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join one of Australia's leading contractors delivering a major hyperscale data centre expansion in Sydney.

Following the successful completion of a 20MW Stage 1 upgrade, the next phase of the project will deliver an additional 52MW of critical capacity, increasing the site's total capacity to 88MW.

This is a landmark mission-critical project involving complex electrical infrastructure, commissioning, and stakeholder management.

As Electrical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the electrical delivery package from installation through to energisation and handover, ensuring safety, quality, programme, and commercial targets are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of all electrical works across the project lifecycle.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
• Drive programme milestones and ensure project delivery deadlines are met.
• Oversee HV/LV electrical installations, switchgear, transformers, generators, and UPS systems.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with internal and client teams.
• Monitor project budgets, variations, and cost control measures.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications, and site HSE requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

About You

• Proven experience managing large-scale electrical packages valued at $10M+.
• Background within data centres, healthcare, defence, industrial, utilities, or major commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of:

This is a minimum of an 18 month contract with an option to extend and ideally operating through your own ABN and have PR.
