Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer – Electrical for the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project. The role will support Energy Hubs and Substations teams, focusing on design, build, finance, operate and maintain transmission assets, with a 14 days on site in camp and 7 days off site roster out of the Central West Orana Region.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3–7 years in a Tier 1 contractor environment and has experience with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
3–7 years’ experience in a Tier 1 contractor environment.
Experience constructing outdoor air insulated substations and substations at 220kV or above.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent attitude and awareness towards safety in the workplace.
Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills.
Knowledge of project policies, procedures, and relevant contractual requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop relationships with project personnel and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative work.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail, organisation and record management.
Manage time effectively to meet required timeframes.
Attend and contribute to pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and construction meetings.
Conduct site walks with peers to monitor progress.
Ensure downtime and non-conformances are reported and rectified per quality procedures.
Monitor progress and financial performance vs. budget and targets.
Review performance and address foreseeable issues.
Ensure commercial deliverables (progress claims, variations, subcontractor claims) are met timely.
Contribute to the 3-week lookahead and construction program for risks and opportunities.
Implement risk controls to improve safety, financial and engineering performance.
Communicate risks and controls to all relevant personnel before works.
Maintain effective interface with construction team (engineering, supervision, workforce).
Analyse equipment needs and prepare a plant schedule aligned with the program.
Assist procurement to timely and cost-effective Equipment acquisition.
