Job summary

Current Opportunities is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer with hands-on experience in industrial electrical installation to join our team delivering bulk fuel/lubrication facilities and installation projects.

This role focuses on practical engineering, site problem-solving, and working within a subcontractor environment; Perth-based with anticipated travel to the Pilbara. You will review drawings, support procurement, and ensure commissioning is completed safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• Strong electrical engineering background in industrial or process-type installations.
• Minimum 3 years site or project experience in mining or defence industries supporting installation crews.
• Competent with cable schedules, LV systems, instrumentation and controls.
• Experience delivering works end-to-end within a subcontractor team environment.
• Excellent communication and technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.

Responsibilities

• Complete take-offs, build BOMs and procure materials for the project.
• Provide electrical engineering support during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Review electrical drawings, produce redlines, verify installation quality, and support ITP development.
• Resolve electrical design and construction issues in the field.
• Develop material take offs and manage and expedite the procurement of electrical packages, equipment, and materials.
• Support integration with MCCs, control systems, and plant services.
• Contribute to planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.

• Provide electrical engineering support for construct-only projects, including design coordination, procurement support, construction oversight, testing, commissioning, and site support as required.


• Electrical & Instrumentation industry experience desired


• Canning Vale office with site travel to the Pilbara
