Job summary

Moderna’s Melbourne manufacturing facility seeks an experienced Electrical Specialist to ensure reliable electrical integrity across GMP and non‑GMP systems. You will lead hands‑on maintenance, troubleshoot complex issues, and coordinate CMMS workflows with end‑users to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include supporting automation and control systems (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA), driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with cGMP, QMS, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent preferred.
• A Grade Electrical License required.
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in regulated environments (cGMP preferred).
• Experience in sterile manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical supply, distribution, sensors, instrumentation, pneumatics and drive systems.
• Experience with GMP, quality systems and regulatory standards.
• Proficient with CMMS scheduling and tracking, and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical maintenance and reliability across GMP and non‑GMP equipment.
• Coordinate maintenance work orders using CMMS with end-user groups.
• Lead complex electrical troubleshooting and coordinate repairs or service providers.
• Provide guidance on electrical supply, distribution, sensors and instrumentation in biopharmaceutical production.
• Support automation systems including PLCs, HMIs and SCADA.
• Oversee equipment validation and regulatory compliance activities.
• Maintain accurate cGMP documentation and safety procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical maintenance strategies and metrics.
• Participate in on‑call support to ensure 24/7 operations at the Melbourne facility.
