Job summary

Moderna in Melbourne is seeking an experienced automation engineer to own and evolve digital manufacturing systems across DeltaV, MES, PLC/SCADA, historians and OT infrastructure. You will troubleshoot, lead lifecycle management, and drive upgrades in a highly regulated biopharma environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years designing, implementing or supporting manufacturing automation systems.
• Experience in GMP-regulated environments preferred.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and complex problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of critical automation and digital manufacturing systems.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and operational support for reliability and compliance.
• Act as SME for assigned systems, driving decisions and lifecycle activities.
• Support and enhance DeltaV, MES, PLC/SCADA and OT infrastructure.
• Design, test and implement system changes with risk-based, compliant approaches.
• Drive automation upgrades and technology lifecycle initiatives.
• Solve complex integration challenges across equipment and platforms.
• Contribute to projects from design to validation and handover.
• Lead or support modifications, upgrades and continuous improvement.
• Support GMP, GAMP and CSV requirements for assigned systems.
• Lead or support investigations, deviations, CAPAs and change controls.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Validation and IT/OT.
• Share expertise to strengthen automation capability.
• Explore Generative AI and digital tech to improve performance.
