Job summary

Macmahon is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance Team at Nifty Copper Operations. You'll maintain and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems across the SX/EW Plant, Utilities and Power Station, ensuring safe, reliable operations.

You’ll work with Operations, Mechanical and Engineering teams to support breakdown response, planned maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and instrumentation knowledge.
• Experience with industrial, mining or process plant maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with PLCs, VSDs, MCCs and process instrumentation.
• Exposure to HV switching, power generation or SX/EW operations preferred.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned, preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, motors, switchgear, MCCs and VSDs.
• Maintain and calibrate process instrumentation and control systems.
• Diagnose faults within PLC and SCADA systems.
• Support breakdown response and planned shutdown activities.
• Complete maintenance documentation accurately in Pronto.
• Maintain compliance with site safety procedures and electrical regulations.

What You’ll Bring:

• Electrical Trade Qualification and current WA Electrical Licence
• Instrumentation qualification or relevant industrial instrumentation experience
• Experience in industrial, mining or process plant maintenance
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with PLCs, VSDs, MCCs and process instrumentation
• Exposure to HV switching, power generation or SX/EW operations will be highly regarded
• A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
