Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer for a greenfield mining project near Weipa, Queensland. The role reports to the Project Field Engineer and focuses on construction engineering within E&I disciplines, including interpretation of electrical drawings, cable installations, and field verification of materials.

You will provide technical direction to field teams, manage planning, material control, and QA/QC, and coordinate with the Project Engineer to ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with 10–13 years of relevant experience or 14–17 years of experience.
Demonstrated supervisory experience within electrical discipline.
Strong planning, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate electrical and instrumentation design issues with the Project Engineer.
Manage quantity take-off, forecasting, and cost reporting for E&I work.
Direct field procurement, materials and equipment coordination.
Ensure construction activities meet engineering design and specifications.
Coordinate interfaces for data exchange to support construction automation.
Develop and manage the electrical and instrumentation construction quality program.
