Job summary

Bechtel in Australia is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer for a greenfield mining project near Weipa, QLD. This FIFO role focuses on construction engineering within electrical and instrumentation, requiring reading drawings, cable installations, material verification, and coordination with field teams.

You will lead planning, cost forecasting, and quality programs, interact with Project Engineer, and ensure safety and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of experience.
Experience supervising within electrical discipline is required.
Strong leadership, coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with engineering on constructability and design issues for electrical/instrumentation systems.
Establish working relationships with the Project Engineer for deliverables and field configuration management.
Responsible for quantity take-off, tracking, and forecasting for electrical/instrumentation work.
Direct preparation of requisitions for field procured materials and equipment.
Review material receiving reports to ensure correct materials are delivered.
Coordinate interfaces for electrical/instrumentation data exchange to support project controls and construction automation.
