Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a senior field engineering professional for a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project. The role starts in Brisbane and then transitions to a 2:1 rotation in Weipa as site execution commences.

You will provide project field engineering specialization, work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, and coordination of subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant field activities and delivery of project

Qualifications

• Leads the field engineering team on site.
• Implements rigorous QA/QC protocols for materials and installations.
• Reviews and clarifies engineering drawings, specs and documentation.
• Drives safety leadership and zero-accident culture on site.
• Coordinates with disciplines, subcontractors and management for project success.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction engineering staff, develop staffing plans.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and Bechtel SWPP.
• Coordinate with home engineering and construction on design issues.
• Champion Bechtel Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) processes.
• Direct temporary construction facilities design where required.
• Coordinate interfaces between automation plan and project controls.
• Plan construction schedules with superintendents and subs.
• Direct preparation of field material requisitions and substitutions.
• Take-off, control, reporting and forecasting of quantities.
• Lead safety/QA/QC surveillance and audits.
• Support commissioning and turnover efforts with documentation.
• Review and approve inspection test plans and submittals.
