Job summary

UGL Pty Limited in Melbourne seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to deliver high-quality design and drafting for fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.

You will produce 2D and 3D drawings, support brownfield upgrades, and ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, codes and project requirements while collaborating with engineers, project teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, fit-for-purpose designs in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in E&I design and drafting in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fuel Terminals or Heavy Industrial environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Experience on brownfield projects and hazardous area facilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Exposure to Navisworks, SPI, SPEL, CADWorx, PDS or MicroStation is a plus.

About the Role

Reporting to the E&IC Lead Engineer, the E&IC Designer will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical and instrumentation design and drafting services that support project delivery and operational performance across fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical and instrumentation design and drafting solutions for fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.
• Produce and maintain high-quality 2D and 3D drawings, layouts and technical documentation.
• Support brownfield upgrades and modifications, including electrical, instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, project teams and stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose designs.
• Ensure all design deliverables comply with relevant standards, codes and project requirements.

About You

We are seeking an experienced designer who enjoys working in complex operational environments and delivering practical engineering solutions. You will bring:

• Relevant qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in E&I design and drafting within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fuel Terminals or Heavy Industrial environments.
