Job summary

Ampcontrol Limited is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Power team, based at Tomago, NSW. The role spans from early project development through tender submission, working with customers and internal teams to develop practical, cost-effective electrical solutions.

You will prepare estimates, budgets and tender submissions, understand project requirements, and collaborate with engineering, delivery and other teams to secure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade background or electrical engineering qualification.
• Hands-on HV/LV electrical systems experience.
• Experience with estimating, cost budgets, or tender prep.
• Understanding of electrical equipment in industrial/mining environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, quotations, and tenders.
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and scope.
• Work with engineering and project teams to develop competitive solutions.
• Support pre-engineering activities, project reviews, and tender planning.
• Manage multiple tenders and priorities across a varied portfolio.
• Review technical and commercial requirements against standards and budgets.
• Build strong customer relationships to support tender outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and tender success.
