Job summary

AE Smith, a long-standing Australian leader in HVAC, building services and electrical markets, is seeking an Electrical Estimator in Melbourne. You will support Maintenance & Small Projects by delivering high-quality estimates and building key relationships to grow sales and service management in the region.

With a strong local experience requirement and knowledge of Australian trades, you will lead site inspections, advise project managers, and help drive a safe, efficient, and sustainable

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and detailed estimates aligned with technical specs and regulations
• Provide technical advice to project managers and site teams
• Lead and promote a strong HSEQ culture in your area
• Establish and maintain effective client relationships
• Contribute to strategic planning for growth and service delivery
• Perform site inspections and field audits to inform estimates
• Identify commercial and technical risks and mitigate them
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams for project success

Job Summary:

As an Electrical Estimator, you'll support our Maintenance & Small Projects business by delivering high-quality estimates and ensuring efficient service. You'll build key relationships and help grow sales and service management in the region for long-term success.

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and detailed estimates that align with technical specifications and statutory requirements.
• Provide technical advice to project managers, supervisors, and peers.
• Lead and develop a strong HSEQ culture within your area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain effective client relationships.
• Participate in strategic planning for business growth and service delivery improvements.
• Conduct site inspections and field audits to gather insights and develop reliable estimates.
• Identify and manage commercial and technical risks associated with projects.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Trade or Engineering Qualification (Electrical) - preferred
• Minimum 5 years of local experience in an estimator role
• At least 10 years of experience in the projects/maintenance sector in some capacity
• Deep knowledge of Australian trades and services industry.
