Job summary

Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group (NCIG) operates a major coal export terminal on Kooragang Island, near Newcastle. The Engineering Officer - Electrical role blends practical electrical work with engineering, fault finding and project tasks to support reliability and continuous improvement across NCIG’s plant and equipment.

You will work with engineers, maintenance and operations teams to identify issues, develop practical solutions and contribute to plant performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on electrical expertise and problem solving.
• Ability to investigate equipment issues and develop practical solutions.
• Experience in planning and delivering projects within scope, time, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical engineering support, including fault finding, failure investigations, plant improvement initiatives, shutdown support and technical advice to maintenance and operations.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver small to medium engineering projects, ensuring governance, scope, quality, timeline and budget.
• Coordinate and support functional safety testing to meet site requirements.
• Coordinate and support contractors to deliver safe, efficient, cost-effective work in line with standards.
• Collaborate within the Assets Team and coach technicians as required.
