Job summary

ECG Engineering are seeking an Electrical Site Engineer to provide on-site support to our construction teams on projects across West Australia, Africa and Asia, including gold, copper and lithium sectors. You will work with our Perth/Brisbane design teams to ensure drawings and specs are implemented on site.

You will defend ECG’s design from site pressures, mark up drawings, and liaise with the Principal Electrical Engineer or Project Manager in Perth or Brisbane.

Qualifications

• Understanding of E, I&C principals in large industrial assets.
• Relevant Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in electrical teams on greenfield/brownfield projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide site support to construction teams on WA, Africa and Asia projects.
• Defend ECG design on site and manage drawings issued for construction.
• Coordinate with Principal Electrical Engineer or Project Manager in Perth/Brisbane.

We require an Electrical Engineer to provide site support to our construction teams on projects in West Australia, Africa and Asia, working in gold, copper, lithium and more. For the technically adept younger design engineer, these opportunities, particularly in Africa, will give you the opportunity to set your Cv apart, as well as building the sort of resource sector contacts that will ensure your career advances rapidly.

Once you’ve helped build a few plants in Africa, your skills will be in high demand, no matter where you end up working in the resource sector.

In this role, you will be working with the Perth or Brisbane based design teams, ensuring that the design and engineering delivered to site, is executed to the specifications and standards in the drawings, on a range of Australian and international mineral processing project that ECG has been driving from study phase.

Your key role as Electrical Site Engineer, is defending the design from site pressures to make changes in construction. You may end up marking up the drawings and getting site approval, or for larger scope of changes, you will engage with the project Principal Electrical Engineer, or the Project Manager in Perth or Brisbane.

Key Experience Requirements

An understanding of technical (E, I&C) principals relating to the large industrial & complex operational assets that our clients own and operate

• Relevant Electrical engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Experience working in electrical teams, on front end greenfield / brownfield development projects
• Termination drawings
• Schematic drawings
• Major project design experience throughout the design cycle
• A passion to learn, a passion to defend the ECG design specification from contractors who think they have a better idea…

The role will be site based, either in West Australia, Africa or Asia. No matter where you are however, you will be working with an established design team, who are there to support you, just as you are there to defend their design on site.

There may be occasional input on the engineering and reports of our overseas offices and our engineering office in Manila.

To be considered for the role of Electrical Site Engineer you need exposure to complex high value electrical projects, and a willingness do the time on site to see how engineering drawings transform from concept to built reality, and the many complexities on that journey.
