Job summary

Breville is seeking an Electronic Engineer to lead the engineering components of New Product Development projects in Sydney. You will work with the Head of Electronic Engineering, project teams, FMEA teams, and suppliers to deliver innovative and compliant solutions that meet timing and cost targets.

The role requires extensive PCB design experience, strong circuit design and fault analysis, and hands-on project management.

Qualifications

• A degree or higher qualification in Electronic and Electrical discipline.
• 6–14 years' experience within the electronic and electrical industry.
• Solid experience in board component applications and selection.
• Solid experience in electronic circuit design and fault analysis.
• Solid experience in schematic and layout design using Altium.
• Solid experience in electronics and product manufacturing.
• Solid experience in electronics and product compliance.
• Experience preparing technical engineering documentation, test reports, product specifications and Bills of Materials.
• Knowledge of Arduino and/or software coding.
• Hands-on project management experience.
• Experience with statistical analysis and applied quality auditing.
• Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with international suppliers.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Strong problem-solving, time management, planning and execution skills.
• A highly motivated, adaptable and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify PCBA layouts and schematics.
• Develop and test electronic circuits and systems for NPD projects.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Create and maintain DFMEA, PFMEA, and quality documentation.
• Plan and execute testing of components, boards and sub-systems.
• Prepare documentation for compliance testing (UL, IEC, EMC).
• Support production release and pilot runs.
