Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for a 24-month temporary full-time role based at Melbourne or Brisbane Airport. You will support NexGen, ARFFS fleet projects and CASA Part 139H compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, is eligible for RPEQ, and has 5+ years in asset-intensive environments. A driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer – Electrical (RPEQ or equivalent).
• Minimum five years’ professional engineering experience in asset-intensive or project delivery environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of systems engineering and requirements management.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Experience in regulated environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering expertise to support the NexGen Program and new ULFV assets.
• Collaborate with operational, engineering and project teams to transition assets safely into service.
• Support engineering assurance activities under the Technology Management Framework.
• Provide specialist advice on vehicle electrical systems and fleet infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with CASA Part 139H and other regulatory requirements.
• Investigate, analyse and resolve technical issues affecting ARFFS fleet assets.
• Contribute to systems engineering activities, requirements management and asset lifecycle decisions.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering assessments, specifications and recommendations.
• Engage with suppliers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure maintainability requirements are met.
• Participate in safety, risk, environmental, compliance and governance activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet safety and reliability.
