Job summary

Airservices Australia is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Built Environment, Facilities & Fleet Management team at Melbourne or Brisbane Airport. This 24-month temporary full-time role supports the NexGen Program and ARFFS fleet assets, ensuring regulatory compliance and reliability of electrical systems.

You will lead electrical design and lifecycle activities, collaborate with stakeholders, prepare technical reports, and contribute to safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Eligibility for registration as Professional Engineer – Electrical (RPEQ) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years' professional engineering experience in asset-intensive environments.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Understanding of systems engineering and requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical engineering expertise to support NexGen asset introductions.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and project teams.
• Support engineering assurance activities under the Technology Management Framework.
• Offer specialist advice on electrical systems and fleet infrastructure.
• Ensure CASA Part 139H compliance for ARFFS assets.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting fleet assets.
• Contribute to systems engineering activities and lifecycle decisions.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and recommendations.
• Engage with suppliers and stakeholders to meet maintainability requirements.
• Participate in safety, risk and governance activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for fleet safety and reliability.
