Job summary

Wave International in Brisbane is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our Brisbane team. You’ll work with experienced engineers across a varied portfolio from concept studies through detailed design, commissioning and project delivery.

You’ll have the opportunity to build your technical expertise, work directly with clients, contribute to practical engineering solutions that make a real impact, and take on more responsibility as your career progresses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Previous detailed design experience is essential.
• Experience with electrical control systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality electrical designs across projects.
• Support concept development through detailed design and delivery.
• Develop design packages, calculations and drawings meeting standards.
• Assist with project management tasks including planning and resourcing.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation to relevant codes and quality processes.
• Engage with clients in design meetings and technical discussions.
• Occasionally visit sites for inspections and commissioning support.

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our Brisbane team. You'll work with experienced engineers across a varied portfolio of projects, spanning concept studies through detailed design, commissioning, and project delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to build your technical expertise, work directly with clients, contribute to practical engineering solutions that make a real impact, and take on more responsibility as your career progresses.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality electrical designs across a variety of project.
• Work collaboratively with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support concept development, detailed design, and project delivery.
• Develop design packages, specifications, calculations, and drawings that meet industry standards and project scope.
• Support project management activities, including task planning, progress tracking, resourcing, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with relevant codes, standards, and quality processes.
• Engage directly with clients, contributing to design meetings, technical discussions, and problem-solving to ensure positive project outcomes.
• Undertake occasional site visits for inspections, data gathering, design validation, and commissioning support.

Skills And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Previous detailed design experience is essential.
• Experience with electrical control systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
• Willingness to undertake occasional site travel.
