Job summary

Aurecon Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Queensland Buildings group. You will contribute to electrical design across diverse projects such as aviation, commercial, data centres, and major event infrastructure, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, integrated solutions.

You will work hands-on on projects while building technical capability, with opportunities to progress into senior delivery roles and lead portions of electrical designs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering electrical design in buildings/consulting environments.
• Projects in the $20M–$50M range experience.
• Design delivery, coordination and client interaction experience.
• Strong communication in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach with ownership and delivery focus.
• AGSVA Baseline clearance desirable.

Electrical Engineer – Buildings (Queensland)

What you’ll do

As an Electrical Engineer in our Queensland Buildings group, you’ll be joining a high performing, collaborative and supporting team. Using your experience in the buildings sector, you’ll contribute to a strong and growing pipeline of projects across markets including aviation, commercial, defence, data centres, precincts, sporting facilities and major event infrastructure. You’ll work as part of multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with clients to unpack technical problems and lead the development of electrical engineering solutions.

You will:

• Work alongside others to develop electrical engineering advice and designs across medium to large scale projects

• Support senior engineers to drive key engineering outcomes from concept through to delivery

• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated and practical design solutions

• Support project coordination, delivery and reporting, ensuring quality outcomes for clients

• Build and maintain client relationships through consistent delivery and communication

• Grown into more senior delivery roles and seize opportunities to lead portions of electrical designs

• Contribute to a team culture that is collaborative, supportive and high‑energy

This is a delivery‑focussed role, ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on in projects while continuing to build their technical capability.

What you’ll bring

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

• Experience delivering electrical design within a consulting, contractor or client‑side environment, or in the buildings sector or an adjacent field

• Proven capability contributing to projects in the $20M - $50M range (or similar complexity)

• Experience contributing to design delivery, coordination and client interaction

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams

• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes

• The ability to obtain Baseline clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) is highly desirable
