Job summary

Kaizen Global Technologies in Cooma, NSW seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with hands-on design experience in power, hydropower, or major infrastructure projects. You will lead BoP electrical design and support site activities on complex projects.

The role requires 10+ years in power engineering, strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Engineering Base, ETAP and Revizto; AS/NZS standards awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Power Engineering degree with 10+ years' experience in power plants, hydropower, switchgear, or heavy infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV systems, transformers, protection, grounding, and auxiliary power.
• Familiar with Australian Standards (AS/NZS); NER registration desirable.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Engineering Base, ETAP; 3D/BIM tools like Revizto.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed BoP electrical design, including SLDs, cable sizing, protection, and technical specifications.
• Design and review LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, generator feeders, DC and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate with suppliers, engineering teams, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Provide hands-on site engineering support, inspections, NCR resolution, and commissioning assistance.
• Review technical documentation and maintain accurate As-Built records.

Role Overview

Seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong hands-on detailed design experience in power, hydropower, or major infrastructure projects, with expertise in Balance of Plant (BoP) electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead detailed BoP electrical design, including SLDs, cable sizing, protection, and technical specifications.


• Design and review LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, generator feeders, DC and auxiliary systems.


• Coordinate with suppliers, engineering teams, procurement, installation, and commissioning.


• Provide hands-on site engineering support, inspections, NCR resolution, and commissioning assistance.
