Job summary

GrainCorp is seeking an Electrical Control Systems Technician to join the Design & Innovation team. The role supports electrical and control systems across a range of Victorian capital projects, reporting to the Electrical Design Manager.

You will work with Project Managers, Operations, and stakeholders to deliver control solutions from scoping to commissioning. Experience in electrical/control systems engineering and PLC/SCADA is essential, as is a relevant engineering degree or electrical

About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Control Systems Technician to join our Design & Innovation team due to a retirement within the team. This position has the opportunity to be based flexibly across a range of our Victorian sites and reports to the Electrical Design Manager.

This role will see you supporting the development, implementation and delivery of electrical and control systems across a diverse portfolio of capital projects within our business. You will work closely with Project Managers, Operations teams and key stakeholders to develop control system solutions, provide technical expertise and ensure the successful delivery of electrical and automation components of projects.

Key responsibilities include;

• Control systems scoping and concept development,
• PLC and SCADA programming
• Control system commissioning and performance testing
• Integration of control systems with existing IT infrastructure, and management of technical documentation and system software

You will also provide electrical and control systems technical support throughout all phases of project delivery and manage smaller control or electrical-based projects.

Success in this role will require a strong focus on safety, collaboration and continuous improvement, as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders across geographically diverse locations. You will actively support GrainCorp's commitment to safe project delivery while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to approved business cases.

About your experience

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in electrical and control systems engineering, industrial automation or a related discipline, supported by a relevant engineering degree, electrical trade qualification or equivalent technical background.

You will bring hands-on experience with PLC and SCADA systems, control system design, commissioning and troubleshooting, together with a strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and project delivery. Your ability to communicate effectively, build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate across technical and operational teams will be critical to your success.

In addition, you will demonstrate:

• Experience delivering electrical and control systems projects within an industrial environment
• Knowledge of control systems integration and industrial IT interfaces
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement
• Well-developed problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• The ability to work autonomously while managing competing priorities across multiple projects

Experience within grain handling, manufacturing, bulk materials handling or other heavy industrial environments will be highly regarded.
